Libella chalets: comfort, space and tranquillity
For successful senior holidays at Lac de Paladru, our Libella chalets offer single-storey comfort on large 200–300 m² plots, located in the quietest area of the campsite. Fifty-one square metres in total — thirty-nine square metres of interior space and twelve square metres of covered terrace with table, chairs and lounger — to enjoy the outdoors at any time, in preserved privacy.
The interior is designed for function and comfort: two separate bedrooms including one with a double bed, living room with a corner sofa and large flat-screen television, bathroom with extra-large shower (110 x 80 cm) and separate WC, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, gas hob, microwave, fridge and freezer. Radiators in every room for the cool mornings of the shoulder season. Duvets and pillows provided, sheets and towels available as an option. Pets accepted as an option for those who travel with their companion.
An accessibility-adapted (PMR) version is also available: six places, easier access, suitable equipment. Please contact us to check availability and choose the chalet best suited to your stay.
The campsite is open from spring to autumn, with a special mention for the off-season — May, June, September, October — which brings together the ideal conditions for senior holidays: a calm lake, low occupancy, mild weather and noticeably reduced rates compared with high season.

The Lac de Paladru Archaeological Museum: outstanding heritage 5 minutes away
Opened in 2022 on the southern shore of the lake, in Charavines, the Lac de Paladru Archaeological Museum — known locally as the MALP — is one of the most remarkable cultural sites in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. It presents the exceptional findings from more than fifty years of underwater excavations on the lake’s shores: a Neolithic village nearly 5,000 years old, and an 11th-century medieval village whose remains, preserved in the lake silt, are unique in Europe. Dugout canoes, tools, jewellery and everyday objects are displayed in a modern, accessible exhibition.
Just five minutes by car from the campsite, the museum offers a single-storey route with audioguide. The visit, around an hour and a half, suits senior stays particularly well: a rewarding cultural setting, free pace, air-conditioned rooms in summer, reduced rate for visitors over 60, and a panoramic restaurant on site to extend the outing facing the lake.
Our reception team is on hand to advise you on opening hours, current temporary exhibitions and good addresses nearby — café with a view, village market, easy walks around the museum — to make the visit a fully successful half-day.
Lac de Paladru: an exceptional natural setting
The only natural lowland lake in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Lac de Paladru is a classified site whose clear waters, wooded shores and low density of development make it an ideal destination for peaceful senior holidays. Just 40 minutes from Grenoble, 1 hour from Lyon and 1h30 from Chambéry, it remains refreshingly undiscovered — which is a large part of its charm.
Détente et Clapotis campsite enjoys direct access to the lake’s largest beach, in a protected natural area. Off-season, between May and June then from September to October, the surroundings regain a rare tranquillity. This is often the best time to fully enjoy the setting, the accommodation and the services — at reduced rates and without the crowds.
