Quick overnight stop at €8 per night
A secure motorhome area inside the campsite, at €8 per night (excluding tourist tax) regardless of the number of people. 10-amp electrical connection included in the price, on pitches of approximately 35 sq.m.
A grey-water and black-water drainage area and a fresh water filling point are at your disposal (drainage at additional cost). This formula does not grant access to the campsite facilities (pool, private beach, wellness area, kids club) — it’s the ideal option for the traveller in transit who just wants to spend one quiet night and leave at sunrise.
Standard pitch with full 4-star access
For a real quality stopover of one or two nights, choose a standard campsite pitch at the regular pitch rate (80 to 150 sq.m, 6 or 10-amp electrical connection). You benefit from the full range of 4-star services : heated indoor swimming pool (open from May to October), wellness area with jacuzzi and sauna, private lakeside beach supervised in season, kids club for children aged 0 to 12, on-site dining.
This is the formula recommended for motorhome travellers and vanlifers who want to enjoy the lake, the swimming, the calm and the comfort of a real 4-star campsite rather than stringing together technical stops. For the price of a pitch, you access what few neighbouring 2 or 3-star campsites can offer.
Technical services for motorhomes and camper vans
Whether you choose the quick stop or a standard pitch, you have all the technical equipment needed for a comfortable stay :
- 10-amp electrical connection included on the dedicated area, 6 or 10 A on the standard pitches. Please bring a European standard adapter (IP44).
- Drainage area for grey water and black water, accessible to both formulas.
- Fresh water filling point for tanks.
- Complete sanitary blocks on the standard pitches (hot showers, sinks, dishwashing basins, washing machines, tumble dryers).
- Secure parking inside the campsite, controlled access.
Converted vans and camper vans are welcome, on the dedicated area as well as on the standard pitches. The campsite remains human-sized : only 151 pitches spread over 6 hectares, in a wooded setting away from urban noise.
An easy stop on the road to the Alps
Camping Détente et Clapotis is located directly on the shore of Lake Paladru, in Montferrat (38620). Our campers swim straight from the campsite, on a beach supervised in season. Access is easy from the main roads : the A48 motorway via the « Voiron / Les Abrets » exit or the A43 motorway via the « La Tour-du-Pin Est » exit.
Allow 35 minutes from Grenoble, 1 hour from Lyon and 40 minutes from Chambéry in normal traffic. For a traveller in transit between Lyon and Grenoble, this is a much gentler stop than a motorway rest area, at the heart of a preserved natural setting.
Compared to the municipal motorhome areas of Charavines or surrounding villages, Détente et Clapotis offers a markedly calmer and tree-shaded setting, a systematic electrical connection, and the option of accessing the full 4-star services of a real campsite if you want to extend the stop.
On-site dining all season long
In high season, the campsite restaurant serves dishes prepared on site with local produce. In April-May and September, local food trucks set up on the campsite square to keep the holiday spirit going through the shoulder seasons : French artisan cuisine, Thai dishes, evening pizzas — all in a friendly atmosphere.
For the traveller on the motorhome area (€8 quick-stop formula), on-site dining remains accessible — the limited access concerns the pool, the private beach and the kids club, not the restaurant or the food trucks of the campsite square.
